About

I’m a pun-loving, word-rhyming, part-timing ad writer and single mom living deep in the heart of Texas. (That would be Austin, a little oasis in this vast Lone Star State.)

In the ad world, I’ve created campaigns for companies like Hallmark, World Market, AARP, Walmart, Macaroni Grill, DreamWorks, John Deere and Southwest Airlines, just to name a few.

In the real world, I’ve been writing humorous verse about motherhood since 1998, when, as the newly christened mom of my first daughter, I wrote the poem “Mommy Brain” for a group of moms I had met online. Before I knew it, “Mommy Brain” had spread to mom blogs and sites all over the Internet (and even to Sweden!).

As most moms would agree, motherhood is sometimes funny. And sometimes poetic.

Here at The Well-Versed Mom, it’s both.
