Happy Pi Day, all you math nerds enthusiasts out there!

Today we celebrate all things pi, the constant that is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter — a number made infinitely more popular via Yann Martel’s novel and Ang Lee’s award-winning film.

Admittedly, I’m more a fan of the other kind of pie, which the world already celebrated on January 23rd.

Of course, you could always combine the two, as these folks did.

We might debate the merits of each ad infinitum, but given the choice, which slice of life would you select?

.

Pi Versus Pie

If I had to choose, I think that I
Would prefer to eat pastry than try
To be like the idjits
Who memorize digits
‘Cause they think it’s easy as pie.

I’ve reached the conclusion, you see —
And would choose, between two ways to be,
An existence less radical
(UN-mathematical) —
The Life of Pie’s the one for me.
