Only two days left in the Limerick-A-Day challenge I gave myself for this month (March Madness, indeed!), and I admit that I’ll be rather happy to see it end.
I did it to jump start my writing, and it certainly has worked and has inspired me. It also has brought me some new online friends and several new followers, which is nice. But now I’ve fallen behind in my housecleaning, my New York Times reading, my laundry, my TV watching, my dogwalking, and my sleep — to name just a few activities put off in favor of my poetic priorities. But hey, there’s got to be a limerick in that somewhere, right?

There once was a woman, Carlotta,
Who hated to write when she oughta,
Because deadlines are worst
For us writers well-versed —
But sometimes you do what you gotta.

Fun limerick! If you’re ever in the mood to write limericks again, please consider participating in my weekly Limerick-Offs. You can always find my most recent one here: Mad Kane’s Limerick-Offs.
Also, thanks so much for your kind words about my multi-verse political limerick “Modest Men’s Reproductive Health Reg Proposal.” I really appreciate your enthusiastic response!
