As I mentioned in an earlier post, Spring has visibly sprung ’round these parts and it’s hard to imagine living anywhere that’s cold and snowy right now. If you’re one of those unfortunate souls in the Midwest or East who just got dumped on by Mother Nature, my heart goes out to you. It really does. So I won’t post — as I had originally intended — a limerick about my garden, where the green beans are vining and the tomato plants are sporting big yellow blossoms and a few small fruits. Nope. That would just be…well…cold.
.
Here in Texas, nice, warm temps I’m noting,
While across the Midwest clouds are coating
All you poor folks with snow,
It’s a shame — yes, I know —
And I honestly swear I’m not gloating.Though your weather right now is a bummer,
Turning cold toes and nose even number,
You just know you’ll feel better
When sweatier weather
Visits Texas and stays through the summer.
